Conversation with T Kondaiaha, Helios
I happened to meet Mr Kondaiaha , A Multilinguist who is from A.P , grew up in Karnataka , worked in through a common friend for lunch at Imperial. He opened to us and shared with us his journey from Raichur to Chennai and how he worked hard in the interiors and architecture business learning the ropes at Hunter Douglas in his initial years to move on to set up his own entity to execute projects in Asia and the middle east. What caught my attention was his mention of introduction to a civil works machinery used for interiors such as wall painting and related civil work in the middle east . This was of European origin costing 25 lakhs ... He studied the machine and then had it reverse engineered it for a cost of Rs four lakhs ....
China in the media is the hub of reverse engineering . Well for those of us who know Coimbatore , its the industrial R & D hub of india :)
Whenever i facilitate workshops on Innovation , I ask people to estimate the approximate number of industrial units in coimbatore . i wait for responses. Most people are surprised when i inform them that there are more than 2500 Industrial units .
